When you start most products for the first time, you activate them. In the activation process, Autodesk verifies entitlement information, such as your serial number.
Some products prompt you to activate. Other products, such as Maya LT 2016, can activate silently or present a prompt.
If you see the activation prompt and can't connect to the Internet, activate manually.
Activate and Register Online
If you see the activation screen when you start your product, and have an Internet connection, follow these steps.
- Start the product and agree to the privacy statement.
- Click Activate.
- If you're installing a free trial, enter your serial number and product key when prompted.
- When prompted, log in and register the product.
Activate and Register Manually (Offline)
If you can't connect to the Internet at startup, activate the product manually.
- Start the product and click Activate if prompted.
- Enter your serial number and product key if prompted.
- Select Connect Now And Activate, and click Next.
- Select Request An Activation Code Using an Offline Method, and click Next.
- Write down the activation information that appears on the screen, including the URL. You must find a device with an Internet connection and navigate to the URL, which allows you to send a request form to Autodesk.
- When you receive your request code from Autodesk, restart your product to run the Activation wizard, and click Activate.
- Select I Have An Activation Code From Autodesk. Copy and paste the activation code into the first field to autofill the other fields. Then click Next.
The product activates and is registered.
