Download & Install

Recommended for educational institutions that want the best download experience for installing at a later time or on a different computer.

The Download Now method uses the Autodesk Download Manager, which enables a download that is more efficient and reliable than conventional browser downloads.

If you have problems using this method, try downloading using a Web browser.

Download the Installer

To use the Download Now method:

1. After you sign in to the Education Community website, click Get Free Software on the left.

2. Select the product you want to download.

3. Specify the Educational license type. (This is a required field):

   • Multi-seat Stand-alone - You want to run a specified number of products on different computers using a single serial number.
   • Network - You want to install products on and access them from a network server.

4. Specify Version, Operating System, and Language.

   The serial number and product key are displayed. You will need these numbers later when you register the product.

   • Network license is valid for 3,000 concurrent users.
   • Multi-seat Stand-alone licenses are valid for 1,250 devices.

5. Click Download Now.
   You may need to click the Install Now drop-down to access Download Now.

6. If you haven't already installed the Autodesk Download Manager (DLM), you are prompted to install it.

   • You may be prompted to click Run (Internet Explorer), or the download of the utility may start automatically in your download window/bar (Chrome, Firefox or Safari).
   • Read the DLM License Agreement, select I Agree, and click Install.
   • In the Save Download window, click OK to save the product download in the default location. (Although this location can be changed, we recommend that you retain the default location.)
   • The download process can take several minutes.  You can pause or resume at any point during the download.

7. When the download is complete, click Install to begin installing your software immediately or click the folder icon to install at a later time.

Deploy to Multiple Computers

You can install or deploy the software as soon as the download process is complete, or you can wait and install the files later. The method you use depends on whether you are doing stand-alone installations on multiple computers or deploying to multiple devices using a network server. If prompted for a serial number, be sure to use the serial number provided for your institutional account when you downloaded the product.

Register & Activate

Educational institutions with multi-seat or network licenses need to manually register the serial numbers and network licenses obtained for the school at registeronce.autodesk.com before activating the software.  Be sure to use the serial number and product key obtained from the Education Community site when you downloaded the product.
