Which Educational Institutions Qualify for Free Software from Autodesk?
Autodesk provides educational
licenses for free* access to Autodesk software to Qualified
Educational Institutions that are located in certain
regions. A “Qualified Educational Institution” is
an educational institution that has been accredited by an
authorized governmental agency within its applicable local, state,
provincial, federal, or national government and has the primary
purpose of teaching its enrolled students. The software can be used
for learning, teaching, training, research and development that are
part of the instructional functions performed by the educational
institution.
Organizations that meet the definition of “Qualified Educational Institution”
Examples of Qualified Educational Institutions include, without limitation, accredited public or private:
- Middle schools and high schools
- Junior colleges
- Colleges, universities, and technical schools
- Home school programs that belong to a nationally recognized home schooling body
Organizations that do not meet the definition of "Qualified Educational Institution"
Specifically excluded, without limitation, from the definition of Qualified Educational Institution are:
- Non-accredited educational institutions
- Training centers
- Churches, hospitals, health care systems, and libraries
- Research laboratories
- Re-training programs
