Renew Autodesk Educational Licenses
Qualifying students, educators and educational institutions can renew their licenses for desktop and cloud-based products for free through the Autodesk Education Community.
The process to renew your Autodesk educational license differs depending on whether you are renewing:
Renew Desktop Products
Most desktop products are available for the newest version, and up to three versions back. For example, if the 2018 version has been released, you can usually get the 2017, 2016, and 2015 versions too. Once your current desktop license has expired you will have to upgrade to a newer version.
- Make sure you are still eligible to access and use free education licenses by reviewing the terms under Who Qualifies.
- Select your chosen software from the Autodesk Education Community.
- Sign in to your Autodesk Education account on that product page and download the software.
- Reactivate the software using the serial number provided during
download.

Renew Cloud-Based Products
The process to renew Autodesk Educational licenses for cloud-based products (listed below), is different than for desktop products.

To renew cloud-based products:
- Make sure you are still eligible to access and use free education licenses by reviewing the terms under Who Qualifies.
- Contact Education Support to validate your license status.
