Cloud Services for Educational Institutions

Cloud Services are offered as part of the maintenance plan, available to educational institutions through Education Community.

Cloud Services Offering

Autodesk cloud services are software-as-a-service (SaaS) options that can improve the way you design, visualize, simulate, and share your work with others.* Add-on services and selected optional components—as well as storage and services that require intensive computing power, such as rendering or simulation activity—are stored in a location that you can access any time you have an Internet connection.

The following cloud services are available through Education maintenance plan:

  • Rendering—Create more photorealistic images and panoramas of your designs in less time.
  • Energy Analysis for Revit—Compare the energy and life cycle costs of design alternatives and make informed decisions that help you create more sustainable designs.
  • Autodesk® Green Building Studio®—Optimize energy efficiency and work toward carbon neutrality with multiple design iterations.
  • Optimization for Autodesk® Inventor®—Test the performance of multiple designs through cloud-based design simulation for Autodesk® Inventor®.
  • Structural Analysis for Revit®—Extend design models from Autodesk® Revit® to the cloud and analyze them as part of the Building Information Modeling (BIM) process.
  • Autodesk® MockUp 360—Work with suppliers and customers in a simple, cloud-based environment using this real-time collaboration and digital design mockup tool.
  • Autodesk® Process Analysis 360—Model, study, and optimize your manufacturing processes. Identify bottlenecks from planning through layout, and increase your efficiency.
  • Autodesk Remote software service—Drive the Autodesk software installed on your primary computer from a remote PC or iPad® to access native design data. The iPad app, compatible only with Autodesk® Inventor® software, enables you to work anywhere you can access the Internet.

Cloud Storage Allotments

Education maintenance plan customers receive 25 GB of Autodesk cloud storage space per named user on the maintenance plan. Contract administrators can designate one named user per seat on an active plan.

Example: If you have signed up for 1250 users, your educational institution would receive 1250 x 25 GB of Autodesk cloud storage.

Currently, you cannot combine storage between named user accounts, and the storage is not aggregative: the maximum amount of storage one named user account can have is 25 GB.

Thirty days after a term expires, storage limitations will be reduced from 25 GB to 5 GB. Your institution will have 30 days to remove data over 5 GB.

Cloud Credit Allotments

Cloud credits are the unit of measurement required to perform certain tasks, such as creating a rendering or running a simulation, in Autodesk cloud services. Each Autodesk ID associated with an active maintenance plan receives a one-time grant of 100 free Individual Cloud Credits.

Note: If you are a Student or Educator, you can receive free access to cloud services through the Education Community.
