When you create an Education account, you set up an Autodesk ID and password that you can use to access other Autodesk sites. Before you can use your ID for the Education website, you will need to activate it.

To create an Education account:

1. Before you can download Educational software, you need to create an Education account.

   Note: If you don't already have an Autodesk Account (which gives you an Autodesk ID), you'll be guided to create an account with an Education profile first. If you are setting up an account for your educational institution, we recommend that you do not use a personal Autodesk ID.  Instead, set up an Autodesk ID for your educational institution.

2. Next, enter the country where your educational institution is located and specify your Education role.

   • Choose Educator if you will use the software on your own personal device.
   • Choose Educator, also, if you will both use the software on your personal device and deploy the software on behalf of your educational institution to multiple users or devices at your educational institution.
   • Choose IT Administrator if you will only deploy the software to multiple users or devices on behalf of your educational institution.
     Click Next.

3. On the Sign Up screen, specify information about the primary contact for your educational institution: name, email address, and password.
   Select the checkbox to agree to the terms of use and click Sign Up.

4. When you receive the "Verify your Autodesk account" email, click Verify Email.

5. Go back to the Education product page and click Sign In.
   Then sign in using the email address and password you created in step 3 for the Autodesk ID.

6. On the Just One More Step page, fill in the additional information about your Educational Institution and click Next.

7. On the Contact Details page, complete the information that allows Autodesk to contact you if necessary.
   (Do not use spaces, hyphens, or parentheses when you enter the phone number.)

8. Click Done.

To request a product license:

1. On the product download page, specify the following:

   • License type - Choose whether you will deploy using a network server or using multi-seat stand-alone installation.
   • Version - Choose the version (year) of the software you want to license
   • Operating system - Specify the operating system on the host computers.
   • Language - Specify a language.

   The Serial Number, Product Key, File Size, and Authorized Usage (number of devices permitted by the license) are displayed.  This information is also sent to the email specified as the primary contact for the Education account.

   The serial number is displayed beneath the product title.

   

2. You will receive one of the following licenses:

   • Educational Network License valid for 3,000 concurrent users.
   • Educational Multi-Seat Stand-Alone Licenses valid for 1,250 devices.

3. The first time you use your downloaded software, you will be asked to activate your Educational license using this serial number and product key.

Note: By requesting a software license for an institution, you represent that you are authorized to make the request on behalf of the institution.

Your email might not arrive for several reasons. 

Try the following:

• Wait at least 10 minutes.
• Check your spam or junk email folders.
• Make sure your email server allows receipt of emails from autodesk.education.community@autodesk.com.

If you still have not received the email, try to sign in again and resend the activation email when prompted.

You may have made a typo when entering your email address. Try creating your account again, and confirm your email address entry at sign-in.

Autodesk uses a single sign-on system. That means you can use the same Autodesk ID and password to sign in to any Autodesk website within the single sign-on system. 

You have an Autodesk ID if you have signed in to Registration and Activation, Education Community, Autodesk A360, Autodesk Discussion Groups, or certain other Autodesk websites. If you do not have an Autodesk ID, you will create one as part of the Education Community account registration process.

Licenses are managed for one educational institution at a time. If you work for a regional or district office and are responsible for software acquisition for multiple educational institutions, you need create a separate account for each institution.

There is no fee to set up an Education account. However, free(*) Educational licenses or entitlements for Autodesk software or services are limited to qualifying educational institutions in certain markets and subject to the applicable software license agreement or terms of service.

If you forget your password, you can reset it by clicking forgot? on the sign-in page. Enter the email address or Autodesk ID used to create your account.
