Account Management

Qualified students and educators can download free Autodesk educational software from the Education Community. The process varies depending on whether you are a student or educator, or an educational institution.

How to get software through your Autodesk Educational Account

Access for Individual Students and Educators

If you are a student, educator, or Autodesk sponsored design competition education mentor, follow these instructions to download your software to your personal computer or device.

1. Create an account with the Education Community. For more information, see Create an Account for Students & Educators.
2. Download and install your software by going to the Education Community site.
   Note: Disable pop-up blockers before you download.
3. If activation is not automatic, enter your serial number.
   After downloading your software, you can manage and update your software through your Autodesk Account.

Access for Educational Institutions

If you oversee a computer lab or other multi-seat deployment for your educational institution, follow these instructions to download your software to a multi-seat or network environment.

1. Create an account with the Education Community.
   Note: Do not use a personal account for the Autodesk ID, since this sign-in can be used by other administrators in your institution.
2. Determine whether you need a network or a multi-seat, stand-alone installation.
3. Go to the Education Community and download your software. For instructions, see Download Overview for Educational Institutions.
   Note: Disable pop-up blockers before you download.
4. Register your software at registeronce.com. Registering your software eliminates the need to activate each installation in a multi-seat environment - you only need to register once.
5. Install the software according to your deployment - network or multi-seat stand-alone.
   After downloading, you can manage and update your software through your institution's Autodesk Account.
   
   Note: If needed, assign other people in your institution to serve as backup administrators. See Autodesk Account Classic User Management for instructions.
