Installation Requirements
Your installation requirements depend on whether you have installed a previous version of the Autodesk Data Management Server.

Users with a previous version of Autodesk Data Management Server
- Upgrade to Microsoft SQL 2012 Express Service Pack 2 prior to installing the latest version of Vault.
- Install service pack 2 for Microsoft SQL 2012 Express prior to installing the latest version of Vault.
If previous versions of the Autodesk Data Management Server installed Microsoft ® SQL 2008 Express:

If no previous version of a SQL server is detected, or if you are not connecting to an existing remote SQL instance, Microsoft ® SQL Server 2012 Express service pack 2 is installed by default.

When using the Autodesk Data Management Server on a workstation operating system, it can support approximately ten simultaneous vault clients. Additional users can be supported by installing the Autodesk Data Management Server on a Windows server operating system.
If a compatible local SQL database is detected during installation, you are prompted to migrate the data once the installation is complete.
