Configure Restrictions for Lifecycle State Changes Using Change Orders

Specify whether item or file lifecycle state changes are controlled only by change orders.

When the with the Restrict File and Item Lifecycle state changes to Change Orders setting is enabled, a File or Item lifecycle state cannot be changed outside of a change order unless the user is an Administrator. Users must change file and items record states using the Change State command inside the Change Order.

You can select whether users with administrative permissions can override these restrictions.

Configure Restrictions

  1. In the Vault Client, click Tools Administration Vault Settings.
  2. In the Vault Settings dialog box, select the Change Orders tab.
  3. Click Configure next to Restrict File and Item Lifecycle state changes to Change Orders.
  4. Select whether you want to restrict File and Item lifecycle changes to Change orders.
  5. Select Allow Administrator Override if you want users with administrative permissions to be able to override the restriction for that entity.
  6. Click Close to save your changes.
