Error Message--Unable to Connect to Computer

Issue:

The following message appears in the CFD Solution Monitor, and the simulation does not run: 

Unable to connect to computer

This error is issued when the CFD Solution Monitor does not get a connection within four seconds from the CFD Server Manager service on the remote computer. This connection is fairly low level (tcp::connect()), so this can indicate several network issues. 

Suggested Solutions include:

  • Ensure that the computer name is spelled correctly in the server.cfg file.
  • Open a command prompt, and do a "ping" to check the name and response times.
  • In the server.cfg file, use IP addresses instead of DNS names.
