Line Load Instance Properties

Modify line load instance properties to specify reaction, load case, orientation and more.

To change instance properties, select the element and change its properties on the Properties palette.

Note: The following table has been reorganized to reflect the Properties palette available to students and to Autodesk Maintenance and Desktop Subscription customers of theRevit 2015 R2 release of the software.
Name Description
Structural Analysis
Load Case Specifies the load case to apply.
Nature Displays the type of load case, such as Live or Dead loads.
Orient to Either Project, Work Plane, or Host Local Coordinate System. Selects the coordinate system with which to orient the load. Project specifies the global xyz coordinates of the project. Work Plane specifies the xyz coordinates of the current work plane (unhosted loads only).Host Local Coordinate System specifies the xyz coordinates in relation to the orientation of the host.
Uniform Load Specifies the linear load as uniformly distributed. Deselect to display the second force components (Fx2, Fy2, and Fz2) and second moments (Mx2, My2, and Mz2).
Projected Load Specifies the load intensity as projected along the sloped projection of a line load.
Forces
Fx 1 Specifies the Force(1) applied to the point in the x direction.
Fy 1 Specifies the Force(1) applied in the y direction.
Fz 1 Specifies the Force(1) applied in the z direction.
Fx 2 Specifies the Force(2) applied in the x direction.
Fy 2 Specifies the Force(2) applied in the y direction.
Fz 2 Specifies the Force(2) applied in the z direction.
Moments
Mx 1 Specifies the Torsional Moment 1 applied about the x axis of the line.
My 1 Specifies the Bending Moment 1 applied about the y axis of the line.
Mz 1 Specifies the Bending Moment 1 applied about the z axis of the line.
Mx 2 Specifies the Torsional Moment 2 applied about the x axis of the line.
My 2 Specifies the Bending Moment 2 applied about the y axis of the line.
Mz 2 Specifies the Bending Moment 2 applied about the z axis of the line.
Identity Data
Description A description of the load.
Comments Specific comments about the load.
Phasing
Phase Created Indicates in which phase the load was created. See Project Phasing.
Phase Demolished Indicates in which phase the load was demolished. See Project Phasing.
Other
Is Reaction Specifies the load is a reaction force and part of the Internal Load category.
Length Displays the length of the line load.
