Export a scene to Unreal Engine 4

When exporting FBX files, you can export a maximum of 65,000 polygons per file. However, with the Unreal game engine and Maya LT on the same system, you can export scenes directly to your Unreal project with no polygon count restriction.

To export the scene to your Unreal project

  1. Select File > Send to Unreal > Set Unreal Project, then browse to select a valid, local Unreal project and click Select.

(You need to set the project only once. It's not necessary to set the project again for subsequent export operations.)

  2. Select File > Send to Unreal, then select All (to export the whole scene) or Selection (to export only selected objects).

Maya LT exports the selected objects or the entire scene to the specified Unreal project folder, so you can immediately import the file into your Unreal level.
