Problem:
Flame project cannot start displaying this type of message:
PROJECT : Failed to open project "Flame_project_full_credentials" : Your credentials (u: flame2018_2, g: users, umask: 02) are incompatible with those of 'Flame_project_full_credentials' (u: flame2018_2, g: users, perms: rwxrwxrwx).
The message points to the fact that the umask user credential (002) are incompatible with the existent project "Flame_project_full_credentials" which has full permissions: rwxrwxrwx (umask 000).
Starting with Flame Family 2018.1 Update version, a New Configuration File for User Permissions was added: /opt/Autodesk/cfg/umask.cfg.
By default, the umask value set in umask.cfg file is 000 . This file is read by Flame at startup but with one exception. If you start Flame using the Flame's binary file (/opt/Autodesk/flame_2018.2/bin/flame) you'll have applied the umask value of your own user. Most common user umask value is 022 or, in case of a flame user in Linux, 002 (like in this example).
Solution:
1. Check if the /opt/Autodesk/cfg/umask.cfg files have the right umask value to match your project. In this example, the umask value should be set 000 because the project "Flame_project_full_credentials" was created this credentials . Once umask value is correct set, use /opt/Autodesk/flame_2018.2/bin/startApplication to test if Flame starts correctly.
2. If starting Flame using "startApplication" works fine but still errors when using the taskbar icon for MAC, the simple way to fix this is to remove the existing icon and to pin the one created when using "startApplication". For Linux, be sure the desktop icon points to "startApplication" script and not to "flame" binary file.
