How to repair AutoCAD installation

Issue:

A specific user is experiencing issues in AutoCAD, that cannot be reproduced by others in the same environment. To resolve the problem, AutoCAD may need to be restored and/or repaired.

Causes:

Causes can include:
  • Corrupt custom settings
  • Damaged/missing installation files

Solution:

Start by testing AutoCAD on default settings.
  • To restore the settings:

AutoCAD 2012 - 2014:

On the Windows Start menu, click Programs > Autodesk > AutoCAD 20xx Language > Reset Settings to Default.

If the problem persists, try repairing the installation.
  • On the Windows Start menu, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features.
  • Select AutoCAD 20xx.
  • Click Uninstall/Change > Report or Reinstall.
  • Select Repair > Repair.
