AutoCAD 2014 deployments hangs at the setup initialization screen

Jun 23, 2014

Issue:

When you install AutoCAD 2014 from a deployment created on a Windows server, the program hangs while initializing.

Solution:

We do not recommend that you run the Autodesk Deployment Wizard on a Server machine.Instead, you should install or run the Autodesk Deployment Wizard on an administrative workstation machine( like Windows XP or 7 OS) and create the deployment over the network to a shared folder location of the server.

To recreate the deployment:
  1. Create a shared folder with full control rights on the server.
  2. Run the Deployment Wizard on a workstation with the Windows XP or Windows 7 operating system.
  3. When you are prompted to specify the deployment location, it is strongly recommended that you enter it as a UNC network path in the following form:

\\servername\share\path

and point to the server shared location.

Note: Using local drive letters or mapped drive letters is not recommended because different workstations may interpret these paths differently.

Turning off "Silent Mode" may also allow the program install to proceed.
