To create a vault project

Note: To create a project in a vault, the Administrator role must be assigned to your vault user name.

On the ribbon, click Home tab Project panel Project Manager New Project New Project.
Select Create this Project in Vault.
If you are not logged in, enter your credentials to log in to the vault session.

If your user does not include the administrator role, you cannot create a vault project. Vault roles are set in the Autodesk Data Management Server Console.
Note: Beginning with AutoCAD Plant 3D 2016, the vault administrator role is required only when creating the first project. Additional projects do not require the administrator role.
In the Specify database settings page, specify the server and plant project database prefix.
You must use SQL Server for vault projects. You can use the same SQL Server that Autodesk Vault uses, but the Database is different for each plant project.
Click Next and Finish to close the project setup wizard.
The project is uploaded to the vault server.
