Creating layout profile grips become offset from the cross hair

Issue:

While grip editing a profile or alignment in a profile view in  Autodesk® AutoCAD® Civil 3D® 2013  SP2 or AutoCAD® Civil 3D 2014 SP1, the grips become offset from the crosshairs. As you draw tangents with curves, you cannot snap to the end of an existing ground. Instead, you automatically snap to the side of profile view. When you draw in the finished ground, it comes in superimposed.

Causes:

This is a known issue with AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 Service Pack 2 and AutoCAD Civil 3D 2014 Service Pack 1.

Other service packs for the above releases are working as expected.

Solution:

Workaround:
  1. Turn off OSNAPS when drawing profile.
  2. In the Profile View Style > Grid tab, set Axis offset to left  to 0.00 while drawing.
Once you have it drawn, you can add the offset.
