How to control the number of displayed points and the size of the points to help manage program performance and decrease visual noise.
Set Point Cloud Point Size
- Select one or more point clouds. In the Display panel of the Point Cloud contextual tab, drag the Point Size slider to the value you want. To reduce detail and speed up display, set the point size larger.
- You can also use the POINTCLOUDPOINTSIZE system variable for this setting.
Set Point Cloud Level of Detail
- Select one or more point clouds. In the Display panel of the Point Cloud contextual tab, drag the Level of Detail (LOD) slider to the value you want. To display fewer points and speed up display, set the LOD to a lower value.
- You can also use the POINTCLOUDLOD system variable for this setting.
Set the Maximum Number of Points in the Drawing
You can change this value with the POINTCLOUDPOINTMAX system variable. Increasing the limit improves visual fidelity for the point clouds. Lowering the limit improves system performance.
