Issue:

You have installed one of the Autodesk AutoCAD vertical products, and would like to boot the software to the AutoCAD profile, as opposed to the feature vertical profile.

Solution:

  • If you are using a desktop icon to open your AutoCAD vertical product, check the target (right-click properties) to see what profile is being used. In your path it should look something like this:

"C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD <vertical product>\acad.exe" /ld "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD <vertical product>\AecBase.dbx" /p "AutoCAD <vertical product>"

  • The text after the /p character is the profile to be used on open so in this case where you want to designate the core AutoCAD profile it would look like this:

"C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD <vertical product>\acad.exe" /ld "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD <vertical product>\AecBase.dbx" /p "AutoCAD"

  • You could also set the profile from Options > Profiles and make your preferred profile current.

Products:

AutoCAD Architecture; Civil 3D; AutoCAD Electrical; AutoCAD Map 3D; AutoCAD Mechanical; AutoCAD MEP; AutoCAD P&ID; AutoCAD Plant 3D;
