To download the NLM
- Download the nlm11.12_ipv4_linux32.tar.gz
file to your desktop.
To install the
Autodesk Network License Manager
Unzip the file into a folder on the machine as follows:

The NLM should be installed under /opt/flexnetserver.
To start the Network
- Open a Terminal window and navigate to
the Autodesk Network License Manager folder (containing the files lmutil,
lmgrd, and adskflex).
- In that folder, enter the following
command to start the Network License Server:
–c license_file_list –l debug_log_path
is recommended to start lmgrd with a non-root user. If you must start lmgrd
with a root user, enter the following to run lmgrd as a non-privileged
username ./lmgrd –c license_file_list –l debug_log_path
username is a non-privileged user.
- Autodesk 2015 products can obtain license only from 2015 compatible version of Network License Server – v11.12. Lower versions of Network License Server cannot serve license to 2015 products. It was recommended in the past as well to upgrade the license servers each year to the latest version, but from 2015 onwards this has been made compulsory.
