Autodesk, Inc.
In a continuing effort to provide high quality products, Autodesk has
released Service Pack 1 for Autodesk Simulation Mechanical 2015, which fixes or
addresses a variety of issues pertaining to the program. This file highlights
how to install the service pack and what has been fixed.

- For deployed installations, append the Service
Pack to your existing deployment image instead of merging it, as
suggested for all service pack releases.
- In case you are prompted for the original
installation disc or network image during installation, or
uninstallation, keep them readily accessible.
- There are no Client Updates associated with this
service pack release.
- On English operating systems, if you install
Autodesk Simulation Mechanical 2015 under a path with non-English
characters, it does not launch.
- On some Windows 7 operating systems, when
uninstalling Autodesk Simulation Mechanical 2015, Windows Explorer shuts
down.
- In pure IPv6 network connection environment,
Autodesk Simulation Mechanical 2015 will not run analyses.

- Autodesk Simulation Mechanical 2015 Service Pack
1 supports 64-bit editions of Windows® 7 Home Premium,
Professional, Ultimate, or Enterprise edition (SP1); Windows®
8; Windows® 8.1; Windows Server® 2008 R2 SP1; or
Windows® Server 2012. 32-bit editions of Windows are not
supported. If your operating system does not meet these requirements,
please update it before you begin the installation.
- Autodesk Simulation Mechanical 2015 Service Pack
1 includes all prior (if any) updates produced since the initial 2015
release. Therefore, Service Pack 1 can be installed over Autodesk
Simulation Mechanical 2015.
- Verify that you have administrator privileges on
your local machine attempting to install programs or service packs.
- For Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 7
installation, in the User Account Control settings, select Never Notify
Me.
- The Autodesk Simulation Mechanical 2015 Service
Pack 1 is approximately 110 MB in size. A minimum of 250 MB of free disk
space is required on the drive where your temporary files are directed.

To install Autodesk Simulation
Mechanical 2015 SP1:
- If required, update your computer to one of the supported operating
systems (as listed in the Installation Requirements section above) and
reboot before installing Autodesk Simulation Mechanical 2015 Service
Pack 1.
- Uninstall Autodesk Simulation Mechanical 2015
Beta if you installed it previously.
- Install Autodesk Simulation Mechanical 2015 if
it is not already installed.
- Download the appropriate version of Autodesk
Simulation Mechanical 2015 Service Pack 1.
- Double click the .msp file to update Autodesk
Simulation Mechanical 2015 to Service Pack 1. A progress bar displays
while the installer updates the files on your system.
- When the installation is done, click
Finish.
- If required, reboot the system after the
service pack installation is finished.
To verify the installation was successful, start Autodesk Simulation
Mechanical 2015. Near the right end of the title bar, click the down-arrow
next to the question mark icon to access the Help drop-down menu. Then,
select About. If the About window displays: Build 2015.01.00.nnnn, the
installation was successful.

Security
- This service pack addresses Heartbleed vulnerability - a security
bug in the open-source OpenSSL cryptography library. Heartbleed is
registered in the Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures system as
CVE-2014-0160. For more information, please visit the CVE dictionary
at http://cve.mitre.org.

Crash
- A program crash could occur when clicking OK in the Options dialog
box.
- A program crash could occur when you change the default target
computer in the Analysis tab of the Options dialog box from Local
solve to Cloud solve (Simulation Mechanical 360 only).

Fatigue Wizard
- When the mean stress is negative, fatigue life results for the
Gerber and Goodman stress correction methods are not correct.
- Regional settings using a comma (,) as the decimal separator cause
incorrect results in Fatigue Wizard.
- Regional settings using a comma (,) as the decimal separator can
cause the following error when attempting to start a fatigue
analysis: “You do not appear to have any language database files
installed.”

Third-Party FEA Support
- The Export to NASTRAN command does not create a NASTRAN file.
- When opening third-party FEA models, an archive of the source model
is created, even though archives are only applicable to Simulation
Mechanical models.
- Exporting results to a NASTRAN *.op2 file fails.

Vault
- Simulation Mechanical 2015 is not recognized as a qualifying application for Vault Basic Client 2015. Therefore,
the Vault Client cannot be installed unless a qualifying Autodesk application is also installed on the computer.

Others
- When you save graph results of a Convergence Plot, the data saved
is incomplete.
- Local Mesh Refinement convergence graphs do not display the units
of the results.
- Duplicate "Simulation" tabs appear in Inventor for Simulation CFD
and Simulation Mechanical.
- You cannot open a file through the Mechanical Simulation Job
Manager. The Open command is missing from the context menu that
appears when you right-click a running or finished job.
- You may not be able to run the following commands after canceling a
currently running solution or if a solution fails:
- Run Simulation
- Check Model
- Local Mesh Refinement
