This readme contains the latest information regarding the installation and use of this update. It is strongly recommended that you read this entire document carefully before you apply this update to your product.

This update installs new Allen Bradley content to AutoCAD Electrical 2014 existing content database.

You must have administrative privileges on your Microsoft Windows operating system to apply this update. It is also recommended that you reboot your system before applying this update.

  1. Download one of the following files to a location on your local computer:
  2. Extract the zip file on some local drive folder. Following files must be present in the extracted folder.

Important Note for Windows 8 users:

Right Click on ImportCT.dll, ZipTools.dll, ZipToolsWrapper.dll & Content.zip to invoke file properties. Click on "Unblock" button from file properties to enable these file as trusted source.

  1. Invoke AutoCAD Electrical 2014.
  2. Type command "Netload" on command prompt.
  3. Select ImportCT.dll from the extracted folder and load.
  4. Click on "Load" from "File Loading-Security Concern" dialog box.
  5. Type "AEIMPORTCT" on command line and press enter.
  6. Verify the target path of files & directory displayed in the dialog box. Change the path using browse option from the dialog box to locate installed file & symbol library locations, if displayed paths are incorrect.
  7. Click on "Import" to import & merge new "Allen Bradley" content in existing installed databases.
  8. Check the summary report for successful import procedure upon completion of import process.
  9. This update creates a backup file of existing database before creating a new database with new content included.
  10. Launch AutoCAD Electrical 2014 and start working with updated "Allen Bradley" content.

  1. Close AutoCAD Electrical 2014.
  2. In the AutoCAD Electrical 2014 installation, delete default_cat.mdb, footprint_lookup.mdb from "..\Acade 2014\AeData\en-US\Catalog" & ace_plc.mdb from "..\Acade 2014\AeData\en-US\Plc" folder.
  3. Rename default_cat_Bak.mdb to default_cat.mdb, footprint_lookup_Bak.mdb to footprint_lookup.mdb & ace_plc_Bak.mdb to ace_plc.mdb.
