How to perform a clean uninstall of an Autodesk product

Issue:

You want to perform a clean uninstall on a product.
You crash when you first start a product, fatal error or unrecoverable error displays.
 

Solution:

  1. First, uninstall the program through the Windows Control Panel.
  1. Then run the Microsoft Install/Uninstall Fixit utility and try to uninstall again:

  1. If you are having licensing issues, you can remove the licensing storage file as well. If you are not dealing with licensing errors, removing this file may be unnecessary. Remove the Trusted Storage file (Licensing). It is located in these areas:
On Vista or Windows 7/8:
C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet\adskflex_########_tsf.data
C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet\adskflex_########_tsf.data.backup
 
On Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\FLEXnet\adskflex_########_tsf.data
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\FLEXnet\adskflex_########_tsf.data.backup
  1. Delete any residual Program Files from these locations:
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\
C:\Program Files (x86)\Autodesk\
C:\Users\All Users\Autodesk\
C:\Users\**YOUR USERID**\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\
C:\Users\**YOUR USERID**\AppData\Local\Autodesk\
 
The program folders should be clearly named. 

Clean out your TEMP files. 

1.) Click the Windows Start button.
2.) In the Run box type %TEMP% and press Enter
3.) Highlight and delete all files. Ignore any files in use.
