About Autodesk Download Manager

Autodesk Download Manager (DLM) saves you time by extracting packaged files while they download and by boosting performance through network acceleration techniques.

Autodesk DLM provides automatic retry, restart, and intelligent error handling during the download session. It allows you to download up to three products concurrently, and you can add an unlimited number of products to the queue.

DLM Files

The first time it runs, DLM installs Akamai ® NetSession Interface to improve download speed. DLM and NetSession do not contain adware or spyware, and do not collect or distribute any personal information. NetSession does not use peer-to-peer features and does not take up network bandwidth.

DLM remains ready to use next time you download more Autodesk products. The DLM files occupy about 14 MB on your computer.

Downloading and Using DLM

When you see the prompt to download DLM, save and run the file called AutodeskDownloadManagerSetup.exe. (Depending on your browser, you may need to double-click this setup file.) Follow the prompt to allow changes to your computer, accept the License and Services Agreement, and confirm the download location to complete the installation.

While downloading and using DLM, you can use your computer for other tasks. If performance is slow, pause the download and resume later. If you shut down your computer, DLM resumes where it left off. You don't have to start over.

System Requirements

DLM is compatible with these Internet browsers:
  • Internet Explorer 7, 8, and 9
  • Chrome 12 or later

Currently, DLM for Download Now and Install Now does not support Firefox 23 and later. Use IE or Chrome, or use a browser-based download (which does not require DLM).

You can install DLM on the following Windows operating systems with the base service pack:

DLM requires a minimum display resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels.

Troubleshooting

Uninstalling DLM

To remove DLM from your computer, first close DLM, and then uninstall DLM and Akamai NetSession Interface. (In Windows, use the Control Panel's Programs and Features dialog.)

Then delete the download.info file, which you can find by entering this path in Windows Explorer:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\Autodesk\Autodesk Download Manager
