Explains the parameters and other contents of the network license file.
The network license file you receive from Autodesk contains licensing information that authorizes your use of one or more Autodesk products in a network installation. The file contains information about network server nodes and vendor daemons, and an encrypted digital signature. If any of the technical information, such as host name and ID, is incorrect, the resulting license errors can prevent you from using the Autodesk products. If the host name in the file does not match the actual host name, you can manually edit the license file in a text editor. But if the host ID in the file is wrong, you must request a new license file from Autodesk.
The license file configures network license servers to manage licenses. When creating a deployment, the network license server name(s) are specified so that each product instance knows which server(s) to contact to obtain a license. The network license server(s) must be accessible to every user who runs one or more products that require a network license.
To see the data values in your license file in a more readable format, you can use the License File Parser, located on the Internet at www.licenseparser.com. This utility displays license file data in a table:

The clear display of product feature codes is especially useful when working with an options file for your network license. Many of the option file parameters require you to specify a product feature code.
