Issue:

Text fields with a symbol such as + , - , /, etc... are moved or transposed when exporting Revit to DWG

Causes:

The export mechanism creates AutoCAD text styles. Each text style has a parameter named “charset” (character set).

During export, for each text item Revit will set the charset based on the Windows regional settings, and will check if all characters from the text are in this charset. For our case, all characters from “1 : 200” are in the charset (Arabic Persian, Urdu, Dari, due to regional settings) and this is why it is the chosen one.

In AutoCAD a text with content “1 : 200” with Arabic Persian, Urdu, Dari charset (due to regional settings) will be represented on screen like “200 : 1”.

Note: When creating a new text element in Revit, it uses the keyboard language (e.g. English) and not the Regional settings. This is why we see a shift during the export as these settings are brought into play.

Solution:

Our developers have been made aware of this behavior.

To prevent the change in the display of text, you can go through the following steps:
1. Go to Control Panel -> Region and Language -> Administrative Tab
2. Click on Change system Locale...
3. Select English (instead of Arabic Persian, Urdu, Dari) and reboot the computer
