Performance issues while editing, opening, moving and syncing a drawing in AutoCAD with Factory Design Utilities loaded

Issue:

User reported that Factory Design Utilities or the Factory Design Suite were installed and now performance is slow when editing, opening or syncing an AutoCAD drawing. There may also be performance issues seen when attempting to editing an asset.

Causes:

Factory Design Utilities is iterating through the entire drawing to collect connector data. 

Solution:

Disable for Snap to Connector in Factory Design Utilities

  1. Open the Options dialog.
  2. Go to the Factory Assets tab.
  3. Disable the option Snap to Connector during placement and repositioning.

  1. Click Apply and then OK.
Note: Make sure that the most recent updates installed for both Factory Design Utilities and AutoCAD products. These updates can be found in Autodesk Account. See Installation for individuals | Update your software.

Unisntall the Factory Design Utilities

If performance issues still occurred after disabling Snap to Connector may consider uninstalling the Factory Design Utilities. See Installation for individuals - Remove Autodesk software.
