How to resolve "Mesh does not contain any nodes or elements" errors in Inventor Nastran

Issue:

Starting an analysis gives a message:

Nastran File cannot be created due to the following errors:
"Mesh": Mesh does not contain any nodes or elements.

Causes:

  • A part does not contain any geometry
  • A part is not assigned to an idealization
  • The model includes weld beads in a weldment
  • Some verification examples are created without any parts to mesh
  • Some parts are note meshed in the assembly

Solution:

  1. Find the part which is not meshed, open the part in next Inventor Nastran Environment.
  2. Define the idealization 
  3. Try meshing with different mesh size(Start with lowest size of the feature in the part)
  4. Once the part is meshed with different mesh size(Note the mesh size).
  5. Open the assembly > Edit mesh table and mesh the part with above mesh size.
