How to turn on hidden files and folders in the macOS

Issue:

Instructions on how to turn on hidden files and folders within the ma OS in order to navigate to a hidden folder location.

Solution:

Hidden files in the macOS are turned on using a command in the Terminal:
  1. In the Finder, click the Go menu and choose Utilities. Alternatively, you may navigate to /Applications/Utilities.
  2. Double-click Terminal.app.
  3. Copy-paste or type in the following two lines of commands and press Return/Enter after each:

    defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles YES
    killall Finder
The Finder will exit and relaunch and hidden files/folder will now be displayed. To turn off hidden files, repeat the command but with 'NO' at the end.
