How to change the serial number in AutoCAD-based products

Issue:

You want to know how to change the serial number assigned to your AutoCAD-based product (2014-2016).

For versions 2017 and later see How to change or reset a license for Autodesk software.

Solution:

To change the serial number of your AutoCAD-based product:

Do one of the following:

On the command line, enter ABOUT and press Enter.
Near the top-right corner of the screen, click Help button ( ) > About.

In the About box, click the Product Information button (top-right corner).

In the Product License Information dialog box, click the Update button next to the serial number and enter the new serial number.

The next time you start the program, the serial number will be updated.

Note: If your current Autodesk license expired you would need to uninstall AutoCAD and reinstall it with your new serial number.
