Issue:

When trying to access IIS or browse Revit Server SVC files you receive the error: HTTP Error 503 Service Unavailable

Causes:

A required IIS component is not loaded.

Solution:

First check if the Application Pool for Revit Server is started, and if stopped restart it.

If the Application Pool is started, or will not remain started, review the Windows Application Event logs for errors with source “IIS-W3SVC-WP”
The Module DLL <path-to-DLL> failed to load. The data is the error.

Check if the DLL exists in the path listed. If it does not, identify the associated Role/Service and load it. Here are some examples:

  • webdav.dll - WebDAV Publishing
  • iiswsock.dll - Web Socket Protocol
  • warmup.dll - Application Initialization
  • logcust.dll - CustomLoggingModule

Products:

Revit;
