"Attempted to access [filename] past its end." when opening a project in Revit

Issue:

The error "Attempted to access <filename.rvt> past its end" occurs when opening a Revit file.

Causes:

This error usually means that the file was not transferred or saved properly or completely; it is not a complete Revit file.
 

Solution:

Copy or transfer the file again from wherever it was transferred from, and verify that the file sizes are the same.
