Issue:

When looking at different views (Sections / Elevations / Floor Plans / 3D views) of the model in Revit, elements or details of these elements are missing.

  • Sometimes, the elements can be found in other views.

  • The elements can be found by their IDs.

  • The element may disappear from a specific view after changing the family type.

    • The element is set to not be visible at the category’s detail level.

    • The element is subject to an element override, set to the background color.

    • The element is subject to a category override, set to the background color.

    • The element is part of a linked file that is not visible in the view.

  • View Control Bar

    • The element or category is temporarily hidden.

    • The element is a family, and none of its geometry is set to be visible at the view’s detail level.

    • The view’s scale is prohibiting the element’s visibility.

  • View Properties

    • The view’s Discipline prohibits the visibility of the element.

    • The element’s Phase settings or the view’s Phase settings prevent the element from displaying in the view.

  • Placement within the view

    • The element is outside the view’s View Range.

    • The element is above the cut plane and does not belong to a category: Window, Casework, Generic model, or MEP family.

    • The element has been placed outside the view's Crop Region (visible extent).

    • The element is an annotation element and does not reside entirely within the annotation crop region.

    • The view’s far Clip Depth (Section/Elevation) is insufficient to show the element.

    • The view is a section/elevation, and the element is behind the section/elevation marker.

    • Another element is obscuring the element.

    • The element is constrained to a Scope Box that is not visible in the view.

    • A Plan Region has modified the view range where the element is located (making the element outside the view range specified in the Plan Region).

  • Linework Override

    • The element has one or more of its edges overridden to display as "Invisible Lines".

  • Family Visibility

    • The element is a family, and none of its geometry is set to be visible in the view type.

Global

    • The element resides on a workset not loaded in a linked file.

    • The element resides on a workset not visible in a linked file.

  • Links

    • The element is in a link. While the phase names match between the link and the host, the phase mapping between the link and the host varies. The phase of the linked element is therefore different or nonexistent (in the host).

    • The element is a linked instance with coordinates too great for Revit to handle.

  • Excluded from Group

    • The element resides within a group (detail model) and has been excluded from the group.

  • Object Styles

    • The element style is set to the background color.

  • Deleted Element
